Karunyx is bootstrapped and pre-revenue by choice — we're deliberately building from practitioner depth before raising capital. Two founders, two practitioner-led products, each entering a different regulated vertical with independent buyer-side credibility, both converging on the same platform.
VeraRisk (working name) addresses GxP risk classification for biotech and pharma. Kagetora, our AI security testing platform for regulated healthcare, addresses AI security evaluation for payers and providers.
Matthew Teli
Co-Founder & CEO
30+ years in biotech and pharma quality and validation leadership — biologics, vaccines and fill-finish — across organizations in the US, South Korea, and global CMO networks.
Matthew is currently Senior Director, Technical Quality at a large biotech manufacturer, where he architected an enterprise AI Risk Management Framework covering AI vendor qualification, risk classification and lifecycle oversight, aligned to the FDA's emerging AI/ML guidance and EU GMP Annex 22.
Previously he was Senior Director, Digital Quality at National Resilience, where he built the digital quality function from the ground up across six manufacturing sites and led an enterprise-wide QMS/DMS deployment. As Director, Validation at Lyophilization Services of New England (LSNE), he led a fill-finish facility startup from construction through full GMP qualification and grew the validation organization from 3 to 14+ staff.
At Samsung Biologics, as Director, Corporate Engineering and Senior Manager, Validation, he led startup qualification of 150,000L and 180,000L biologics facilities with a 70+ person team. Earlier, he executed Consent Decree remediation milestones under direct FDA oversight at Genzyme. His regulatory inspection experience spans FDA, MHRA, TGA, Health Canada, ANVISA and PIC/S.
Matthew originated VeraRisk and owns Karunyx's regulatory strategy, clinical and validation methodology, FDA pathway decisions, and commercial strategy. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Andhra University.
Samuel Beera

LinkedIn →The experience that shaped Kagetora came from Samuel's role as Director of Enterprise Architecture and AI Platform Lead at a large healthcare payer organization, where he built the production AI infrastructure behind every design decision in the product: multi-agent orchestration, a custom LLM routing gateway, a zero-trust AI security architecture, PHI-aware access controls, and an enterprise Responsible AI governance framework. He chaired that organization's Architecture Review Board and Cloud Governance Board.
He is now Enterprise AI Architect at a large healthcare provider organization, leading architecture for AI and agentic systems across the health system — a present-day vantage point on enterprise healthcare AI governance on the provider side, on top of the payer-side experience above.
Before healthcare, Samuel spent roughly seven years as Director of Architecture at Fidelity Investments, managing a multi-country architecture team and establishing an AI Model Governance Center of Excellence. He has also held architecture and technology leadership roles at Homesite Group, Arbella Insurance and OneBeacon.
He holds an MBA from the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University and a BS in Engineering from Andhra University.
